A place to contemplate -
Lif at the central square in Anatole France
Project
Redesigning a central square
Oullins, France
Oullins, a French municipality with approximately 27,000 inhabitants, is located about six kilometers southwest of Lyon’s city center, along the banks of the Rhône.
Supported by the Métropole of Lyon and the City of Oullins, the project to redevelop Place Anatole France was carried out in parallel with the extension of Metro Line B and the creation of the "Oullins Centre" station, situated beneath the square.
The project, envisioned by ECL Studio, aimed to implement a restrained lighting design that would be seamlessly integrated into the predominantly green landscape planned by the Plan B landscapers.

product Lif
For the lighting of Place Anatole France, Selux Lif light poles were selected primarily for their subtle visual impact during the day. Harmonizing with the round planters that define the square and surrounding streets, the slender, cylindrical design of the Lif poles blends seamlessly into the environment. The resulting nighttime atmosphere is peaceful and gentle, encouraging people to stroll or simply pause and enjoy the space, which is once again reserved for pedestrians.
Background
The Lif lighting modules can be flexibly configured and are arranged vertically on top of each other. Lif allows for the creation of slender, cylindrical columns that blend unobtrusively and elegantly into their urban surroundings.
