Bensheim is located on the eastern edge of the Upper Rhine Plain, on the slopes of the western Odenwald Mountains. With more than 40,000 inhabitants, the city in Hessen is the largest city in the Bergstrasse district. The nearest larger cities in the area include Heidelberg, which is located 35 kilometers south of Bensheim.

The city presents itself as tranquil, with a marketplace lined with half-timbered houses forming its center. However, Bensheim is also a city that offers its young residents a variety of educational opportunities; there are six high schools and seven public elementary schools here alone. Not least because of the constantly growing number of inhabitants, the city realized a new daycare center in 2021, for which Selux illuminated the surrounding parking area with Elo light columns.

Four Elo light columns with a height of four meters were installed for standard-compliant lighting. Their luminaire heads are equipped with Tritec Ambiance optics with silver reflector and illuminate their surroundings with a light color of 4000 Kelvin. With the higher proportion of vertical light and their soft transitions, Tritec Ambiance optics are particularly suitable for urban living spaces. The Elo light columns, which also have anti-glare protection, provide a bright atmosphere and thus create a safe place where the residents of Bensheim feel comfortable.
