On 12th Decem­ber 2018, a Selux Smart City light­ing system com­menced oper­a­tions in Bürstadt in Hesse. As well as high qual­ity light­ing, 44 Lanova lumi­naires equipped with ICE Gate­way tech­nol­ogy also pro­vide locals and vis­i­tors to the small town var­i­ous addi­tional ser­vices over and beyond mere light­ing.

The wi-fi hotspots inte­grated into the lumi­naires were the first smart fea­ture to be acti­vated. Free use of these hotspots increases the attrac­tive­ness of the station’s sur­round­ing area and enables the time to pass more quickly for those wait­ing for the next train. Addi­tional func­tions like park­ing space man­age­ment, cam­eras or envi­ron­men­tal data record­ing shall be enabled, thereby making a valu­able con­tri­bu­tion to enhanc­ing well-being in this area of the town. The project was imple­mented together with our project part­ners Bürstadt Town Coun­cil, RM, Main­ova, Thüga and ICE Gate­way.
