The »Biological White« light profile combines safety with biodiversity protection for sensitive areas, set to the environment’s natural rhythm
Recent scientific studies show that many insect species lack receptors for light in the red wavelength range and are therefore less responsive to red light. A paradigm shift toward warm or red light sources may provide sufficient light for the human eye while also protecting insects.
Warm light at 3000 K is more efficient than even warmer light in the range of 2200 K, but it also has greater impact when used in areas with increased insect activity.
The »Biological White« light profile takes the activities of a large proportion of insects into account and changes the light colour between 2200 K and 3000 K depending on their activity in the relevant months. The light intensity also adapts to the natural rhythms of insects and biodiversity.
In this way, spaces are illuminated with insects and biodiversity in mind, with little to no effort.
The course of a year
Winter
In the cold winter months, when insect activity has declined, a cooler, more energy-saving colour temperature is used.
Spring to autumn
In the warmer months, when animals and insects are most active, warmer light with an increased proportion of the red spectrum is used to protect insects and biodiversity within their natural habitat.

At dusk the luminaire switches on automatically

In the early evening with high light intensity

At night with low light intensity
4
At dawn with increased light intensity
Luminaires available with the »Biological White« light profile
The thought-through intelligence is entirely pre-programmed in each luminaire. The luminaire is installed and commissioned just as before. There is no need for time-consuming planning and support. The only thing we need from you is the location and type of space of your project. Based on this information, the sun path and other intelligence are automatically calculated and programmed.
