Purely horizontal light is more energy efficient and protects the environment from stray light, enables dark-sky conform illumination and provides light free zones for nocturnal animals such as owls and bats.
»Dynamic Ambiance« offers different lighting scenography in one luminaire by changing the vertical and horizontal light distributions and light intensity, which dynamically and efficiently adapt to the natural rhythms of people and nature.
In this way, spaced can be illuminated with different light levels with little to no effort, and essential dark zones can be created for nature when it is necessary.
Dynamic modulation of vertical and horizontal light components with adjusting light intensity at different times of the day and year
The luminaire independently switches on the horizontal and vertical light components to 100% of the predefined light output after sunset and dims both light distributions during the late evening and night. Later in the evening, it switches off the vertical light component and converts to a Night Sky compliant application, thus saving energy and creating a haven for nocturnal animals. Before sunrise during the morning rush hour, the vertical component is switched back on and the light intensity is increased.

We all know and love the golden hour in summer, which is created by the longer sunsets. The »Dynamic Ambience« light profile simulates this wonderful effect by illuminating both façades and people more intensely with vertical light, even in winter. In summer, the sun takes over this task. Thus, lower lighting levels are then sufficient to achieve a similar effect. Accordingly, the ambient but also the horizontal light components act differently depending on the season.
