New outdoor luminaires in the Museumsquartier

The Museumsquartier (MQ) is a unique destination for international guests. Located in the heart of Vienna, it is one of the world's largest art and cultural complexes, featuring around 60 cultural institutions. Its diverse exhibitions and events make the MQ a true magnet for visitors. Notable institutions include the Kunsthalle Wien, the Leopold Museum, the Architekturzentrum Wien, and the mumok.
Since October 2024, the MQ's inviting atmosphere has been further enhanced by a thoughtfully designed courtyard lighting. The lighting project was meticulously planned to respect the ambiance of this historic area while highlighting the neighbouring listed buildings. The MQ Vienna received expert advice on redesigning its lighting from siblings Iris and Michael Podgorschek of Podpod Design. Their recommendation of Selux Aira luminaires was carefully considered and approved by the Federal Monuments Office.
The Aira luminaires bring both beauty and functionality to this center of art and culture. With their timeless design and visually striking light modules, they enhance the appearance of the Museumsquartier by day and night.
Exceptional visual comfort is achieved through the double Tritec Ambiance module, featuring gold-tinted reflectors. Its prismatic and reflector optics work together to provide outstanding glare control.
Specifically developed to create soft transitions, the Tritec Ambiance optic emits a warm, diffused light that fosters a welcoming atmosphere. This makes it especially well-suited for urban spaces like the Museumsquartier. The luminaire’s seemingly floating glass shells blend seamlessly into the historic surroundings, adding a touch of elegance to this iconic Viennese destination.
