Henri IV quay
Dieppe, France
Surrounded by impressive white cliffs, Dieppe is the oldest seaside resort in France. The lively port town on the English channel is located in the Normandy region. At a distance of around 200 km Dieppe is the nearest beach to Paris.
Henri IV dock is a place in Dieppe that is highly frequented by both locals and tourists. Many events take place at the dock during the year, meaning a lot of people pass through it, which is why modernization of its street lighting forms part of an upgrade process that takes aesthetics, economy and sustainability into account. To ensure the safety of users and comfort during the evening, lighting that can be adapted for each purpose has been redeveloped on the dock: warm and soft for pedestrians, and more functional for roadways.
In order to preserve the harmony and beauty of the town, Sombreo luminaires have been chosen. Inspired by the aesthetics of lanterns hanging from a mast, as on a ship’s deck, Sombreo acts as a distinctive eye-catcher in Dieppe.
Thanks to LED technology, the lighting is fully controllable in order to reduce energy consumption and maintenance cost, in particular by setting up a dimming system according to the hours and periods of the year.
