Redesigning the park into a welcoming place
Project
Park Saint-Remi
Reims, France
The major French city of Reims is located about 130 kilometers from Paris, in the northeast of the country - northwest of the Marne department and west of the Grand Est region. It has numerous listed monuments and has an active policy of enhancing its heritage.
Directly behind the Saint-Remi Basilica, one of the most famous and remarkable works of Romanesque art in northern France, is the small Saint-Remi Park. Before the realization of the project, this park was a little busy and poorly secured place. To make it more attractive, the park was renewed, with a garden area protected by large trees, a playground and with lighting by Selux Lif light columns. The light columns stand out for their multifunctionality: They light the streets, illuminate the facades of the buildings and highlight the details without drawing attention from the illuminated objects to the luminaires themselves.
Thanks to the discreet integration of the Lif light columns into the inviting atmosphere of the park, people can relax here with their families, walk their dogs or simply rest after having a drink on the opposite esplanade or visiting the abbey.
